Qatalog is the framework for high-performance teams. A centralised work hub where teams can work async from anywhere in the world, within context.
During Q1, the design team was challenged to change the entire look and feel of the platform while improving UX issues we were facing. One of them was Tasks. The team wanted to give tasks a more prominent place within other instances in the platform, not only teams and people could have tasks but other features such as Projects and Goals could do as well. Helping teams have not only visibility but also accountability of their work.
Users previously could add a name and description to a task and also set a status for it (Not started, Ongoing and Completed). But we also wanted to give users more options to set their work in motion always in context.
Now, users are able to:
- Create single and multiple Tasks easily.
- Keep context always at plain sight with a new fixed side panel.
- Edit almost everything in line.
- Navigate through their tasks without going back and forward.
- Indicate the priority and size of the Task.
- Add subtasks underneath their main tasks and assign them to fellow users or themselves.
- Engage in conversations within comments adding pictures and links as well.
Before moving forward to production, I set up and ran an unmoderated remote usability test so I could get feedback and prove the solution was the right one for this problem. Most users showed understanding of what the page intended to do and how to navigate and find useful information in it.
80% of them use the word ‘collaboration’ when describing it out loud and understand how this feature could help their teams and organisations.
